Early Voting - "Vote Parties"

An idea that I have submitted to the Kerry campaign (and he better give me a job too) is "Vote Parties." In order to alleviate the hasssle of standing in line at the polls on election day or missing our blood purchased right to vote on election day by running out of time, etc., we can vote early.

Find out the earliest day you can vote. Talk to your friends and choose a day to go to the polls. Go as a group to the polling site in the afternoon/ early evening and then host a party afterward in your home or at a Chili's.

Everyone On Board for 2004

With the exception of Carol Moseley Braun and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, everyone else is on board the Kerry Express for November 2004. Dean endorsed Kerry publicly today and is throwing the support of we Deaniacs and Dean supporters behind Kerry. A dinner held in Senator Kerry's honor included Presidents Carter and Clinton, Vice-President Gore and the Democratic candidates.
It is time now for all of us to pull together and do what is necessary to defeat President Bush. You can register to vote over the Internet. One of the biggest things you can do to help is to get the pertinent information of your family and friends and register them to vote so that their voter registration card comes right to them in the mail. Register cousins, yo partners, cliques, everybody. If you have never voted for, register now and vote in November. A second Bush term will mean the institution of the draft and Black and poor white sons and daughters will go to their death in Syria or Iran because of a neoconservative agenda to "conquer" the world for democracy and spread American influence the world over (the term is Pax Americana). With our failed policy in the Middle East (northeast Africa), our fallacious reasons for invading Iraq, our incomplete job in Afghanistan, our refusal to utilize unilateral diplomacy with North Korea (all Kim asked for was a one-on-one with President Bush), outsourcing of jobs, tax cuts inability to stimulate the economy, Medicare prediction of bankruptcy in 2019 and the suggestion of Federal Reserve Board chair Alan Greenspan to take from Social Security, THIS IS THE WORSE IT HAS EVER BEEN. So, we all have to go to the polls and VOTE.

I Voted Today

Since I am headed to tha Ville and our primary (FL) is March 9th, I went and did early voting today. I wanted to go during the day of the primary so I could wear my Howard Dean paraphenalia so that everyone could see that we aren't going away.

Well, I was the only one voting at the time but I still felt jazzed as I cast my vote for a candidate for which I have worked long and hard.

I think I'll throw on the Banana Republic dark blue suit with charcoal gangsta stripe and a vertical stripe shirt and mob up in somebody's happy hour with my Dean button and I voted sticker. A sure fire way to generate some political discussion. [Imitating the infamous and media exaggerated Dean scream] Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!!!

Went to Dean Meetup

Although it wasn't the amount of people that we had during Governor Howard Dean's candidacy for the White House, we had a powerful meetup this evening as I know they did across the country.

It is wonderful to see that even though Dean's candidacy was assailed by Democrats and Republicans alike, that we as average citizens have been able to continue his grass roots legacy by a reorganization and a continued dedication to the idea of "Taking Back America."

We covered several topics all of which will go to Vermont where the home base will digest all of the issues of all the meetups across the country as well as on the Internet and start to shape a platform from the organization that will emerge from its ashes.

I will be voting for Governor Dean on Tuesday in my primary here in Florida. I, of course, will support the eventual nominee (Senator Kerry) but I am continuing in the process of actively energizing the electorate in every way I possibly can.
