Bush Billionaire Donors Avoid Paying Millions
From the Independent UK via Truthout:
The Manhattan District Attorney, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and the IRS are investigating a tax haven scheme on the Isle of Man believed to be in violation of securities rules and money laundering laws utilized by two Texas billionaires that were $200,000 contributors to the Bush campaign, to avoid $100 million in taxes since 2003 and $700 million in the past 11 years.
For all the talk of the death tax and cutting taxes to stimulate the economy, it simply boils down to greed. We should pledge allegiance to ourselves because it isn't to the flag of the United States of America. It is allegiance my way of life, how much I can get away all while paying lip service to our military and family values. Those tax dollars should be funding No Child Left Behind or Head Start or Homeland Security. John Q. average, middle-class American pays his taxes faithfully in order that the government can execuute the affairs of the nation all the while the greedy rich avoid their allegiance to the flag. Now that's un-American.
